A visit to a very old, but important building

The capitol from the outside.  Every time I tried to place it at the
bottom of the blog, it just insisted on being at the top.

We traveled to Northern California for our granddaughter's college graduation.  We were at loose ends a few days and took that time to see a little of Sacramento, which we hadn't really spent any time since we were teens.  Let's have a look.

trimmed into human and animal shapes.

No photo of it, but entering the capitol building was the first time I encountered a body scanner since i got Pally (my defibrillator).  It surprised me that it was there.  I explained that I'd set it off and they did a body scan.  Let me tell you, the TSA should take lessons from these people who were friendly and polite and did the job with as little fuss as possible.  They even let me bring my walking stick inside.  Of course it was a weekend and nothing particular was going on, but we few tourists.

as if the inhabitants had just stepped away.

took to heat all of the offices?

I really felt proud to be a part of all this.  I wish I had been there when it was full of people bustling around with State business.  I probably saw more because I was there on the weekend.
