Blew it - Day 6 of no Facebook

Today a friend is promoting her book.  It's free for Kindle on amazon.com
----------------

Subject: Diary of Murder
A free Kindle download of DIARY OF MURDER, is available this weekend at: http://www.amazon.com/Murder-Cafferty-Mystery-Suspense-ebook/dp/B005JFRROI/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1344699521&sr=1-1&keywords=Diary+of+Murder

The second novel in the Logan & Cafferty mystery/suspense series has plenty of humor, romance, intrigue and mystery as well as murder. (The fourth novel, Gray Wolf Mountain, was just released.)
-----------
I always post free books for the Kindle if I think I would like to read it.  (It's a good idea to follow me on Facebook if you own a Kindle.)  So, after considering briefly . . . . very briefly . . .. I logged on to Facebook to share.  Just a quick share won't hurt - will it?

But the first post I saw, before I'd even loaded the book notice was a post from my granddaughter Brynne who is going to visit us from Finland at Christmas.  My, my, are we going to have a fun Christmas this year!  Well, I had to read that, didn't I?

Sure enough, there were lots of excited posts from Brynne.  She hasn't been "home" in two or more years, I'm thinking.  This time she's coming to our home in California instead of her mother's home in Washington.  This will be a big sun break for her and her husband.

So, you see, I had to read those posts.

And then there was a photo of Bob and Peggy's son Jack, clinging to a cliff high on a mountain with lots of other snow-capped mountains in the back ground.  I had to share that, didn't I?

So, I admit it.  I broke.  I couldn't handle the entire week without Facebook.  As penance I'm going to stay off of Facebook until Tuesday morning - maybe.

  1. Why not set a time limit so you have your FB time without feeling guilty, but you make sure you aren't wasting your day on it? Can you do that???

    ;)

  2. I thought I had more control Lin. I'm going to have to do something. I've been on Facebook on and off all day. Maybe a timer would work.

  3. Hehehe, I'm sorry for tempting you back. I think I would have trouble going without Facebook too, which is funny since I was slow to join (I only did after all of my friends were complaining all the time that I needed a Facebook account). It's such a great way to keep in touch!

You could try to limit yourself to one sitting on Facebook a day. You won't miss anything as long as you look through your newsfeed every day. I can be on and off Facebook pretty fast too if I've already checked my newsfeed once that day, because when I check it again there might only be a few new posts and I just glance them over and then log off.

  4. I'm doing better Bree, but I'm still spending too much time on Facebook. It turns out that it's the best way for me to keep track of our family and keeping track of what everyone's up to is important to me.

Thanks for checking in. I like your new blog.

  6. I missed Facebook when I was gone too. Oh well! I'm not the only one who spends her day on Facebook.
